- What happened to being an auction site? Do you know who else on the internet is an auction site? NO ONE! YOU OWNED THE MARKET! STOP TRYING TO BE AMAZON!!!
- eBay sellers who price their cards at inflated BIN prices, at which they'll NEVER sell, and list them over and over and over and over and over and over and over...
- eBay sellers who price their cards at inflated auction prices, at which they'll NEVER sell or get a big, and list them over and over and over and over and over...
Oh btw, and God forbid you EVER ask them if they'll take a lower price. MORON, WHY WOULD YOU ASK SUCH A STUPID QUESTION?? YOU DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH THIS CARD IS WORTH!!!!!
Case in point, here is an email exchange I had today, stupid eBay seller part 1 (mickeymantle.doesnt.care_if.your.dad_cant.payrent):
This the ONLY BGS 9.5 version of this card listed on eBay, so I'm confused as to how "competitors have same card listed at higher price". PSA 10s are NOT BGS 9.5s. Completely different markets and comparing the two is like comparing apples & oranges. If you want it to sell at a PSA 10, then GET IT GRADED BY PSA! Dumbass.
Guess what, ANYONE who sells on eBay pays fees & has to pay for S&H. That is YOUR cost to sell an item to the largest audience of customers you'll ever get. Your card is eligible to be purchased by more customers than anywhere else in the world, that's why they charge you a fee. If you don't want to pay fees, set up at a card show with limited number of attendees (and usually the same group of people every month) or go on a card forum with limited number of people who will want to pay less than eBay because you don't have to pay a fee.
That being said, if you list an item at $0.99 auction, and it's viewable and available to be bid on by the largest number of people in the world (probably one of the largest sports card purchase forums in the world too), and it ends at a price (either doesn't sell or sells for a dollar amount), how is that not fair market value? Has this guy ever taken an economics class? Something is only "worth" as much as someone is willing to pay for it = FACT!
Also, "I'm not in business to lose money or to hope to break even"...is this really your business? NOT being able to sell cards because you over price them and never get bids?? Your "business" that consists of 479 items of feedback as a seller since 2012? How about the fact you have 2,213 completed listings and only 62 SOLD ITEMS!!!! HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!! You CLEARLY know a lot about cards and their value.
There it is...this guy is clearly an idiot and deserved to be outed as such.
